Chapter 3
The First Day at Alpha Academy
The road to Alpha Academy was long and winding, flanked by green mountains and a clear blue sky. Aleya, seated in the back of a luxurious car driven by a chauffeur her brother had hired, couldn’t stop drumming her fingers on her thigh. The masculine uniform she wore fit her uncomfortably well, and her newly short hair kept itching the back of her neck.
“This is a disaster,” she thought, staring at her reflection in the window.
Luna replied with enthusiasm, “A disaster? This is the best thing that’s ever happened to us! A place full of muscular alphas, testosterone everywhere, and us pretending to be one of them! I can’t wait to see what happens when one of them challenges you to a fight.”
Aleya rolled her eyes. “Thanks for the support, Luna. Truly comforting.”
When the car finally arrived at the grand entrance, Aleya stepped out and gawked. Alpha Academy was an imposing structure, with towering spires and an air of grandeur rivaling any castle. The students, all men, strolled confidently through the courtyards and hallways, some even showing off their physical skills in the open.
Aleya swallowed hard and adjusted her backpack. “Remember, you’re Aleron now. Not Aleya. Aleron Silverfang.”
Luna snickered. “Aleron. So original. No one will suspect a thing.”
Ignoring the comment, Aleya made her way to the registration area. The crowd was overwhelming, and she tried to keep a low profile, but her nervous demeanor only made her stand out more. “Just stay quiet, blend in, and everything will be fine,” she muttered to herself.
After receiving her schedule, Aleya started searching for her dorm, but the maze of hallways and doors left her hopelessly lost. As she walked, a door swung open abruptly in front of her, and out stepped a tall boy with dark hair, ice-blue eyes, and an arrogant smirk.
Aleya stumbled and ended up on the floor, her belongings scattering everywhere.
“What the hell?” The boy raised an eyebrow at her. “Who are you?”
Still on the floor, Aleya scrambled to collect her things. “I’m sorry. I was just looking for my dorm and—”
Before she could finish, another boy appeared behind the first. This one had blond hair, golden eyes, and a mocking grin. “What do we have here, Axel? A lost puppy?”
The first boy, Axel, leaned down toward Aleya, his smirk turning into a look of superiority. “Looks like it, Cassian. Did you get lost on your way to kindergarten, little guy?”
Before Aleya could respond, a third boy entered the scene. He was taller than the other two, with jet-black hair and a calm yet intimidating presence. His sharp gaze settled on Aleya.
“What’s going on here?” he asked in a deep voice, crossing his arms.
“Nothing, Lucien. Just a lost puppy trying to find his place,” Cassian said with amusement.
Aleya quickly stood up, brushing the dust off her clothes. “I’m not a puppy, and I’m definitely not lost,” she said, her tone more confident than she felt.
Axel smirked, clearly amused. “Oh, yeah? Then why are you at our dorm door, intruder?”
Aleya blinked, glancing at the number on the door and then at the paper in her hand. “This is… my room,” she said slowly, holding up the paper with the room number.
The three boys exchanged looks of surprise and then disbelief.
“No way. They wouldn’t stick us with a rookie like you,” Cassian said, snatching the paper from her hand and reading it. “Well, looks like they did. This is going to be interesting.”
Lucien rubbed his chin, still scrutinizing her. “You’re lucky you’re a Silverfang. If you were from another clan, I’d have already thrown you out.”
Aleya felt a knot tighten in her stomach. “Great. First interaction, and I’ve already made enemies.”
Aleya stood in the middle of the dorm, trying to process what she had just learned. The room was nothing like what she had expected from such a prestigious place as Alpha Academy. Two bunk beds took up most of the space, leaving barely any room for a small desk and shared closet. But what really concerned her wasn’t the decor—it was her roommates.
“What the hell is going on here?” she thought, trying not to stare too much at the three alphas who were now her roommates. Each one had an overwhelming presence, and to make matters worse, they were all annoyingly attractive in a way that made anyone else feel invisible.
Axel, the dark-haired alpha with a leader-of-the-pack attitude, stared at her with crossed arms. Cassian, with his fox-like grin and golden eyes, seemed to revel in her internal chaos. And Lucien, the quietest but probably the most dangerous, simply studied her as if he could see right through her.
“This is a problem. A very big problem.”
The silence in the room was suffocating. Aleya tried to locate her assigned bed while pretending to stay calm, but her wolf wasn’t helping.
“Relax! They’re just three ridiculously handsome alphas with egos big enough to fill this room twice over. Nothing we can’t handle. Although, honestly, I’m curious what you look like without that chest binder after all that squeezing.”
Aleya ignored Luna and, without thinking, let a comment slip out.
“Well, I guess I’ll just have to adapt…” she said, forgetting to deepen her voice.
The effect was immediate. Axel raised an eyebrow, Cassian let out a mocking laugh, and Lucien, who had been about to leave, stopped in his tracks and turned slowly.
“Hey, shorty,” Axel said with a smirk. “Didn’t quite grow into yourself, did you? What’s with the squeaky voice? Fall into a squirrel trap as a kid or what?”
Aleya froze, feeling heat rise to her cheeks. She quickly cleared her throat, trying to fix it. “Uh… I’m recovering from a cold,” she said, her voice a bit lower but not very convincing.
Cassian leaned closer, his fox-like grin growing wider. “A cold, huh? Sure it didn’t leave any permanent damage? Because that voice…”
“Enough,” Lucien interrupted firmly from the doorway. His presence was like lightning, silencing the other two. “We have better things to do than bother the new guy. And by the way,” he pointed a threatening finger at Aleya, “don’t take the bottom bunk. It’s mine. If you do, I’ll kill you.”
Aleya swallowed hard. “Understood.”
